being revamped with a sea of change. The State BJP president
KS Eshwarappa today announcing the list of state office bearers
said that women and youth will be given top priority in the new
committee.
Eshwarappa said the list of new office bearers has 33% representation
to women. "In the new office-bearers list, we have given top priority to
the women and youngsters," Eshwarappa said. Among the nine new
vice-presidents of the state BJP, five are men and rest women.
Bellary MP J Shanta, former BBMP Opposition party leader Mangala Sridhar, Sulochana Bhat from Bantwal and Mangala Devi Biradar of Muddebihal are among Eshwarappa's women deputies. The party's youngest MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel from Mangalore, Malleswaram MLA E Aswath Narayana, former legislator Nirmal Kumar Surana, Narayana
CT Ravi and Dharwad MP Prahlad Joshi have been appointed as general secretaries. Ragunathrao Malkapure from Bidar and Amaranth Patil from
BJP also appointed Nandish (Tumkur), Gopinath Reddy (Bangalore), Ravi (Byatarayanapura), Eranna Kadadi (Arabhavi), Bhojaraja Kerudi (Hangal), Mohan Hosamani (Ilkal), Shashikala Jolle (Nippani), Shravani (Maddur) and Sujatha Patil (Deodurg) as secretaries. Lehar Singh Siroyo has been retained as treasurer and Ayanur Majunath was named as the party spokesman
It will be interesting to note whether the National BJP unit will also keep up the promise made by its president. The list of National level office bearers are expected to be announced within a week.
